2023 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

Tasting notes: Classic Russian River Valley notes of cherry cola and Bing cherry are the first thing you’ll notice on the nose. The 2023 harvest was so late in the season that the red wines from that year spent an extra five months in barrel. They just were not ready to blend in my typical spring time frame. This extra time allowed the oak to integrate fully creating a lush and full palate that even has a hint of vanilla. The flavors lean toward black fruit like plum and black raspberry. Surprisingly this wine starts off quite lush on the palate but finishes with a nice snap of tannin and bright acid. (3.20.25 - Alan)
