2022 Cartograph Estate Pinot Noir
Tasting notes:
This wine is a beautiful rich ruby color. The nose shows a solid cherry core with a slightly twiggy note which highlights a nice balance between earthy and fruity. A hint of blackberry melds with fall dried leaves with a bit of violet in the background. For such a young wine it is very balanced on the palate. As on the nose, the flavors are perfectly balanced between earth and fruit. Due to the cold and windy conditions at our vineyard this year this wine presents more as a young Burgundy than a RRV Pinot. There is a nice pop of tart cranberry that livens up the finish. We’re excited by the aging potential of this wine and it is definitely a great food wine. (9.1.24 - Alan)
