2019 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

For a youthful wine the 2019 Russian River Valley Pinot is showing incredible balance. While there is lovely red fruit on the nose like strawberry and cranberry, these light aromatics are balanced by earthy notes of California chaparral, dried leaves, and a minty note hinting at oregano. Surprisingly, this subtle nose does not really give a hint at the rich red fruit that await you in the glass. RRV Pinot lovers will love the Bing cherry, cola, and cranberry flavors that are the classic flavors of the Russian River Valley. The mid-palate is bright and very lively leading to a finish with fine tannins and a lovely rose petal note that will become lush with age. (Updated 3.1.24 - Alan)
