2021 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Tasting notes:
This wine is translucent garnet in color. The aromas of this young wine are quite subtle showing dusty cherry, violets, and fragrant spices. There is some bright red fruit lurking in there. The palate is a bit of a surprise as the wine is bigger on the palate than the elegant aromas might suggest. Ripe Bing cherry and plum are the flavors that round out the medium palate with a touch of cola coming out towards the finish. There is a nice vanilla note that comes from the toast on the barrels (25% of the barrels were new French oak). We expect this young wine to build palate weight over the next several years.
