2021 Mendocino Ridge Pinot Noir

Tasting notes:

This Mendocino Ridge Pinot is a beautiful ruby color and gives up ripe strawberry aromas that verge on confectionary red licorice. On top of that are notes of black cherry and red currant. On the earthy side of this equation are balancing notes of fresh cut cedar, rose hip and a touch of spearmint. The palate is a bit more restrained than this basket of fruit aromas might suggest. Those dark fruits are still prominent but they are soft and are well-integrated with some sweet roasted red pepper and dried apricot flavors.  This leads to abundant fine tannins that dry the palate and those dried stone fruit flavors keep evolving on the finish.
