2019 Perli Vineyard Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes:
The 2019 growing season in the Mendocino Ridge AVA gave us wines that lean decidedly towards the earthy side of the spectrum. The dominant aromas are a twiggy/dry forest floor note that melds with orange zest and a resinous aroma of freshly cut pine. And above all this earthy and sharp action floats a lovely veil of hibiscus flower. Plenty of cherry comes through when you take a sip impressing as more of a Rainier cherry than Bing. This wine has added palate weight and is much more lush than last notes from 2023. The drinking window is now wide open for this wine. Mouth coating tannins add a lot of structure but tannins are also starting to soften so this wine has great structure and a solid finish. It is very harmonious across the palate with great aging potential. (Updated 12.19.24 - Alan)
