2019 Green Valley Pinot Noir
Tasting notes:
This 2019 Green Valley Pinot comes from two vineyards in western Sonoma County at the cold edge of the Russian River Valley AVA. It is a beautiful blend of the two vineyard's characteristics. One vineyard gives us bright sour cherry pie aromatics while the other offers rich violet aromas with a nice background note of autumn leaves. It is bright on the palate with ripe strawberry and some nice grippy tannins. This wine was still quite tight in early 2023 but has opened up nicely in the last 12 months. Ripe strawberry dominates the medium to full palate. Also emerging is a wonderful baked red fruit note, think Strawberry/Rhubarb galette. (Updated 8.16.24 - Alan)
