2018 Cartograph Estate Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes:
We love how this wine balances sweet and savory aromas. Warm summer forest floor aromatics blend with floral violet and black cherry with a dark chocolate note hovering in the background. Yep, pretty awesome. The palate is earthy and energetic showing cranberry and tart strawberry. The fine tannins that were prominent a few years back are softening and becoming velvety late on the finish. There is a darker fruit element showing up on the palate that reminds us of a juicy Santa Rosa plum. This wine continues to develop well in bottle and will continue to build more character in the coming years. Drink now, or hold if you prefer your Pinot with some age. (Updated 8.31.24 - Alan)
