2017 Sangiovese, North Coast

Tasting notes:

After tasting through all the Pinots for the fall release, this is a bit of a wild ride with bright cherry and ripe strawberry aromas mixing with a lovely herbal thread that hints at oregano and thyme. There is also a confectionary component that brings to mind Red Vines and dried roses. On the palate this 2017 Sangiovese is bright and crisp showing Santa Rosa plum and tart cherry. There are slightly drying tannins early on that carry through to the finish where they present as slightly chalky and persist on your tongue for a good while. (Updated 12.12.2019 - Alan)
