2017 Green Ranch Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes:
Green Ranch is nestled high atop a ridge cut into old-growth forest in rural Mendocino County. So, it's not a surprise to feature aromas of California chaparral and forest floor. On the fruit side of things dusty cherry, blood orange, and subtle strawberry swim together in the glass. The palate has evelved away from the fruit that was so prominent in its youth. It is very well integrated with cranberry and nice baking spice notes that give it a little bit of a rustic feel. Light cranberry and pretty strawberry flavors lead to pretty tight tannins on the finish that help this wine stretch out the finish and makes this a great food wine. (Updated 11.5.24 - Alan)
