2013 Upton Vineyard Sangiovese
Tasting notes:
The critters got the best of us in 2013. When all was said and done we had exactly one barrel of Sangiovese from the Upton Vineyard, so it is a precious commodity. We cannot even get this wine into all club levels, so if you’re a Latitude member and really want this wine, please let us know; any wine that isn’t claimed by the October deadline will be offered to anyone on the waiting list. We're looking much better with supply moving ahead.
The 2013 Upton Sangiovese presents aromas of cigar box, dried cherries, bitter chocolate and orange peel. It’s light and bright on the palate, with tart cherry and cranberry flavors showing the elevated acidity of this vintage and plentiful chalky tannins on the finish. This wine cries out for food.
