2013 Floodgate Vineyard Pinot Noir
Tasting notes:
This Floodgate Pinot delivers a bullseye when it comes to the aromas you would expect from a great Russian River Valley vineyard. Aromas of Bing cherry, cola, English Breakfast tea and violets mix with earthy notes of mushroom and dried fall leaves. The color has shifted from deep ruby to more of a claret tone. The wine has not added significant palate weight with age as can often happen. On the palate it is pretty and very well integrated. It is supple as it crosses your tongue. There is a nice cherry core that starts off with tart cherry and fades to an earthiness towards the finish. Soft mouth-coating tannins linger on the long finish. (Updated 3.2.23 - Alan)
